John Turturro will spend some time directing a film version of the off Broadway play "Souls of Naples" by the late Eduardo De Filippo says Variety.
The Italian classic is set in 1946, where the penniless Pasquale and his young wife move into a haunted residence, rent free, as a scheming landlord seeks to give his estate a boost luring in unsuspecting tenants.
Turturro is also wrting the script for a mixed American and Italian cast, and will shoot the English-language film in Naples next year.
One question? Who's making the pasta?
