Ellen Page ("Juno") is set to star in a feature film version of Cynthia Wade's 2008 Oscar-winning short documentary "Freeheld" says The Hollywood Reporter. The story is based on the true story of Stacy Andree (Page), a New Jersey car mechanic who with her girlfriend, police detective Laurel Hester, fight to secure Hester's pension benefits after she is diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Ron Nyswaner ("Philadelphia") adapts the docu into a narrative screenplay.
