David Fincher is in talks to take the long gestating remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo for Disney says THR

Scott Z. Burns is the latest in a long line of writers to pen the adaptation of the Jules Verne fantasy novel, with the movie supposedly chronicling the life and times of the mysterious Captain Nemo and his souped up submarine the Nautilus.

Fincher, who is in post on The Social Network, is not exactly the guy you think of when it comes to BIG pics like this since his last one--“Alien 3″ back in'92-- didn't go so well. But he is a great filmmaker “SevenFight Club and Zodiac proved that--I'm no more jazzed about this now then I was when McG was in charge.
