From Pirate To Musketeer

Variety reports that former Pirates of the Caribbean film series star Orlando Bloom and James Corden have signed on for Paul W.S. Anderson's 3-D adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

The former star playing the Duke of Buckingham and Corden the servant Planchet.

The duo join Logan Lerman, as D'Artagnan, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans and Matthew MacFadyen, playing Porthos, Athos and Aramis respectively, Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu, Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort and Milla Jovovich as Athos' former lover, Milady de Winter.

Anderson co-wrote the script with Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones's Diary) and is aiming for a contemporary feel for his version of the classic tale: "We are definitely modernizing The Three Musketeers without compromising the fun of shooting a period piece... in our film, corsets and feathered hats don't take center stage. Our version is rich in eye-popping action, romance and adventure."

Filming will take place in France and Germany, and is due for release next year.
