Deen & Li-Lo Explore The Canyons; Ellis Wants "Shades" Gig

Porn star James Deen will play the male lead opposite Lindsay Lohan in Paul Schrader's indie thriller "The Canyons" says AVN.

Author Bret Easton Ellis wrote the script and revealed the news via Twitter, saying "I am beyond thrilled that James Deen and Lindsay Lohan will be playing the parts of Christian and Tara in 'The Canyons'."

The story charts Youth, glamor, sex and Los Angeles, in 2012. Christian is “a trust fund kid, power player and major manipulator, who is a film producer that enjoys filming his own three-way sex sessions,” and Lohan is his girlfriend Tara, a former model who “has sold her pride for the material comforts Christian can provide.”

Additionally Indiewire says that 3 other lead roles still need to be filled including Ryan, a bartender and young actor who is angling for a role in Christian's horror movie; Gina, who works for Ryan and is in love with him and is also looking for a role in the horror pic, and finally, Lindsay, a former actress turned yoga instructor who is  sleeping with Christian, and falling in love with him.

Ricky Horne Jr. and Braxton Pope will produce the film.

Production starts next month.

Ellis has also recently stated that he wants to write the script for the film adaptation of the erotic E L James book Fifty Shades of Grey.

What began as a posting on a fan-fiction website as a tribute to author Stephenie Meyer 's Twilight books soon became a word-of-mouth eBook hit that won a major reprint deal with Random House.

The sexually-explicit story follows 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey and 22-year-old virgin college student Anastasia Steele, who develop a relationship steeped in bondage, S&M, domination and submission. The novel is the first in a planned trilogy

Ellis says that were he in charge of the decisions of director and star - "David Cronenberg and Alexander Skarsgård is a no-brainer. I've seen Alexander naked so many times at the gym that we both attend: perfect casting."
