A Little Guilty

Jury Finds Wesley Snipes (pictured) Guilty Of 3 Misdemeanors

Acquitted of Tax Felonies-the most serious charges against him late this afternoon.

Snipes, star of the "Blade" movie series, was found guilty of three misdemeanors by a U.S. court on Friday for failing to file tax returns for three years.

The 45-year-old actor was acquitted of more serious felony, conspiracy and fraud charges but could still face up to three years in prison, according to prosecutors.

Snipes had been charged with six counts of failing to file tax returns, two of fraudulently claiming tax refunds and one count of conspiracy to defraud the government and could have faced up to 16 years behind bars...

Emerging from the Ocala
[Florida] courthouse Snipes said "it does feel good, it feels great" when asked about the verdict.

Prosecutor Robert O'Neill said the actor could still face jail time, however.

Sentencing was set for a later date pending a pre-sentence investigation in which authorities said they would determine how much Snipes owed in back taxes.

"Wesley Snipes (is) committed to making all the amends he's required to do," [Snipes' lawyer] said.

I'd be shocked if Snipes spends a day behind bars for this. His lawyers will fight hard to plea this down to some sort of fine. What a few mill between the feds and a famous defendant?
