Al-Lies?

AICN has a possible juicy casting tid-bit about the 22nd Bond flick Quantum of Solace now in production....

The film is said to mark the return of the evil organization known as SPECTRE to the franchise mythology.

It's also claimed that QoS will feature a cameo by the head of this organisation, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who could possibly serve as the larger villain overall throughout the current incarnation.

A source tells AICN:

"The big news that he leaked was that Al Pacino would be taking part in filming. I was a little shocked as the cast has been revealed aready, but he said Pacino would play the head of the terrorist group introduced in 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace'. Al is said to come to Pinewood in April-May to film what is said to be a brief cameo."

AICN is quick to point out that all of the Pacino (pictured) talk is unconfirmed as yet even through the site's regular sources.

As cool as Pacino's appearance may sound at first, I am thinking that it might be better for Bond, if the role of Blofeld went to an unknown. Traditionally, with a few very note-worthy exceptions, Bond villains have been for the most part, played by folks who are not yet household names...At least that's what my gut tells me for the moment. Does Bond need a big name to put butts in those sticky theater seats--I think not...

Stay Tuned...
