Variety says that United Artists and MGM have pushed back the release of Bryan Singer's "Valkyrie" from Oct. 3 to Feb. 13.
This marks the second date change for the World War II action/drama and in turn another delay for the revamped studio headed Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner.
The release date had originally set for June 27 but was pushed back late last year to allow Singer enough time to complete the film. The helmer's set to shoot three final scenes in May.
Now, with an early 2009 debut the flick has moved out of awards season contention -- but into a slot with more box office potential...according to the studio suits...
Roger Friedman of Fox News says the date switcheroo is not the film's only issue of concern.
As for me--The only reason I'm sticking around to see what happens here is because it marks the reunion of Singer and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) Other than that...Meh.
