Sigourney Weaver recently revealed in a chat with MTV News that those old rumors were true - she had definitely considered a reunion with director Ridley Scott to make another "Alien " flick.
"The last time [Ridley and I] saw each other we talked about it. The character is still interesting [and] I'd love to work with Ridley again"
It seems, however, that the current Alien vs. Predator series has killed those plans...
"[The studio] has effectively killed it because of 'Alien vs. Predator.' What else can you do with the creature? You can take the situation, you can go back to where they came from. ...To play someone who ages a couple hundred years was fascinating. [But it's probably best to] let [Ripley] rest."
What a shame-Scott and Weaver were put off from doing another flick by an incarnation of the very franchise that helped to launch their careers.
Anything that the pair could come up with would surely have been way more entertaining than last year's silly Aliens vs Predator - Requiem. Sheesh!
