A Whole Different Level

A video game turned flick two-fer one:

*Popular Playstation®3 video game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune™ is being adapted as a feature film for Sony Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

The game follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. His quest is complicated when a rival hunter joins the hunt. The game also features creatures - actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis - who attack

Kyle Ward will write the script

*Universal Pictures won the film rights to the classic 1979 video game Asteroids according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The game featured a spaceship that had to shoot down incoming asteroids to avoid collision-- Matt Lopez is adapting that simple premise into a script.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce.

No schedule or production dates have been set yet in either case.
