Haddon's spin on Robert Louis Stevenson’s literary classic "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" plans to give the story a less horror, more anti-heroic take "by making the split personality the center of a Victorian-era action-adventure that sees him go head-to-head against a historical villain."
Haddon will adapt the screenplay and says:
Mr. Hyde is one of my favorite literary villains, but he hasn’t been given his due on the big screen for the better part of a century, I’m excited to be playing a part in restoring him to his proper place in the pantheon of movie monsters: at the top of the food chain.
Mike Richardson Keith Goldberg and Mark Gordon will produce the picture
The announcement comes after two other attempts to film Stevenson's classic recently fell apart.
