Deadline says that Rob Lowe has joined the cast of "I Melt With You"
The story is being kept under wraps, but the film is said to examine pain in terms of the modern male psyche.
Lowe will play a doctor dealing with a tragic personal loss and an increasing drug addiction.
Thomas Jane and Jeremy Piven also star
Mark Pellington (Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies) is directing the pic from a script by Glenn Porter.
Shooting kicks off in Northern California next month.
