Julia Stiles is set to produce and star in The Bell Jar, an adaptation of poet Sylvia Plath's posthumously published, autobiographical novel reports The New York Times.
The story follows a gifted young woman's mental breakdown beginning during a summer internship as a junior editor at a magazine in New York City in the early 1950s.
New York playwright Tristine Skyler will adapt the script.
Virginia Madsen co stars as a therapist.
