Backlog Of Work

Making the rounds for his February 18th flick I Am Number Four, director
D.J. Caruso tells Cinema Blend that three movies that have his name attached are still some time off

"The Defenders", the story of players of an MMORPG who are all drawn together for a real-life adventure, is still in scripting stages with Marti Noxon (the upcoming "Fright Night" remake) currently hashing it out Caruso says he won't be directing the film, but will be producing the film

The Art of Making Money, telling the true story of Chicago counterfeiter Arthur Williams, has Chris Pine attached to star in it. Caruso wants to do the film but Pine's busy schedule, specifically his commitments to the Jack Ryan franchise reboot "Moscow" and the Untitled Star Trek Sequel means it's  gonna be tough Caruso also admits the script is still being worked on.

And finally there's the long-gestating adaptation of the comic series Y: The Last Man. In the pipeline since mid-2007, Caruso says the project "is pretty much dead" as far as he's concerned. "I got where I did as far as I did with New Line and Warners.. It’s just, unfortunately, not going to work out" he adds.

Caruso does say that a sequel to "I Am Number Four", based on the second novel of the six book series called the Power of Six to be released on August 23, 2011 could get underway but it'll depend upon how the first goes at the box-office.
