Slog For Slinger

This past week the casting process for Gunslinger Roland Deschain for Ron Howard's "film trilogy and two TV season" adaptation of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" has proven to be quite interesting to watch First How we got to this point...

Earlier this month, Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Biutiful, Eat Pray Love) and Viggo Mortensen were apparently the top candidates. Then earlier today The New York Post reported that Christian Bale had emerged as the top candidate for the role..

Mortensen just signed on to star in "Snow White And The Huntsman", effectively taking him off the list Shortly after that initial NY Post story, Deadline went further saying that Bardem isn't just in the running but has beaten out Bale and has been officially offered the lead role.

Howard plans to direct the initial film as well as the first TV season that will create a bridge to the second feature. If Bardem is cast, he’ll most likely appear in all three films and that first TV season.

And that's not all---The Post story also said that Jennifer Carpenter and Moraccan actress Ghita Tazi  and  Naomie Harris are on the list to play the role of Sussanah Dean

Stay Tuned To See How This One Shakes Out....

The book series will be adapted by screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend, The Da Vinci Code)

The first movie in their Dark Tower film trilogy is on the calender for a Friday, May 17, 2013 bow.
