Couching Tigers

The latest bits from the industry's infamous couch...

-Tina Fey is in final negotiations to join Paul Weitz's upcoming campus comedy "Admission" reports Variety. Fey will play a college campus admissions officer who falls in love with one of her students. Karen Croner ("One True Thing") wrote the script A Spring 2012 release is already being eyed for the pic.

-C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders) has been cast in an unspecified role for Marc Webb's Untitled Spider-Man Reboot which CTH confirmed via his Facebook page He begins work on January 25th. Meantime Stan Lee has also confirmed via FilmShaft that he's set to cameo in the currently shooting superhero pic, and that he's involved in an action sequence this time out.

-John Michael Higgins has joined the cast of Cameron Crowe's newest drama  We Bought a Zoo says The Hollywood Reporter. Higgins will play a state zoo inspector with a uniquely loud stomach, who has it in for Matt Damon's character.

-Ron Livingston has signed on for an undisclosed role in  The Odd Life Of Timothy Green reports The Wrap. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton also star. Livingston also recently signed onto the ensemble reunion drama "Ten Year". Channing Tatum, Kate MaraMax Minghella, Rosario Dawson, Justin Long and Lynn Collins also star. Livingston is playing Dawson’s wife for helmer Jamie Linden

-Michael Fassbender is circling the  role of author Thomas Wolfe opposite Sean Penn
in the long-in development drama Genius says The Playlist.

-In a bit of reverse casting Charlize Theron has backed out of  the biopic J. Edgar  says Vulture She has officially signed on to  Snow White and the Huntsman, instead Director Clint Eastwood is now considering either Naomi Watts or Amy Adams for the  vacated role reports Deadline. Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick has also joined the cast playing the man hired to write the biography of Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio).
