Based on the 1975 play by Bernard Slade--the story follows a housewife named Doris and an accountant named George who are married to others, that have a one night stand and get together once a year to rekindle the sparks. Over the course of time, the relationship becomes complex as they develop an intimate relationship as they discuss what is going on with their lives at home.
Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn starred in the original film for director Robert Mulligan.
Walter Mirisch and Scott Rudin will produce the film.
