Writer/director Tony Gilroy will helm the fourth installment in the Jason Bourne film franchise says Deadline.
Gilroy has worked on the scripts for all three previous installments of the series and was hired to write the script for the tentatively titled "The Bourne Legacy" back in June.
The plot thickens because Gilroy reportedly grew increasingly frustrated with the way his work on the franchise ended up on screen, certainly he wasn't a fan of filmmaker Paul Greengrass, who directed the first two sequels.
Whether star Matt Damon will return is not yet known since has indicated he wouldn't come back unless Greengrass directed again. The studio suits want to continue the franchise though, with or without Damon.
Frank Marshall, Jeffrey M. Weiner and Ben Smith will produce.
The film's production production schedule is unknown.
Yeah YEAH Yeah....Granted not really a fan of Bourne on film with Damon--But I'm really getting tired of the Back & Forth on this...
