Mother Nature VS Max

Director George Miller says that environmental issues are what caused the delay of the upcoming "Mad Max: Fury Road" 2-parter rather than economics

Chatting with WA Today, Miller says ''Warner's are very, very committed to the film, as we are...There is nothing like creative problems. It's not an issue of budget; we're covered on the Australian dollar rise.''

The unseasonal rains around Broken Hill where filming was to take place has rendered the locale useless for shooting - "what was wasteland is now this wonderful flower garden".

Although at least two-thirds of the Australia continent is a desert, Miller says an alternative location was not possible.

Meanwhile the gang at Screen Hub has a different theory to go on. According to their sources, part of the reason for the delay is that the suits wants Miller to concentrate on finishing the currently in production Happy Feet 2 in 3D first.

Slated to begin filming in February, the new start date for Max is now said to be July at the earliest and more likely September-October.
