There was a nine-year gap between 1995's "Before Sunrise" and its 2004 follow-up "Before Sunset". The same span of time is likely to pass for the third film in the series.
In Richard Linklater’s two-fer, romantic cynic Jesse, a young American (Ethan Hawke) and doubtful Céline, a French traveler (Julie Delpy) disembark from their train and spend the night wandering around Vienna and getting to know each other.
The first film won over critics and viewers (myself included) and has gone on to become a modern romance classic.
In the sequel the twosome spend an afternoon wandering the streets of Paris. As the action unspools in real-time, we listen in on more philosophical discussions about love, life, and romance as they fill in the blanks of the past 9 years
Still Untitled at the moment, Hawke confirmed to Indiewire recently that "we're doing a follow-up to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, so that will be fun. We’re going to shoot that this summer."
The newest film is hoped to be in cinemas next year.
