Campbell Plays A "10 Things" Dad

Billy Campbell (TV's "The Killing") has joined the cast of Gil Junger's indie rom-com "10 Things I Hate About Life" says THR.

Despite the callback to 1999's Junger's "10 Things I Hate About You", and under appreciated TV series a decade later this film is NOT a sequel but rather will have a "similar spirit".

Evan Rachel Wood and Thomas McDonell star as a young woman and man who meet while attempting to commit suicide at the same jumping-off point. Complications ensue when the man’s ex-girlfriend re-enters his life just as his budding rock band is on the verge of signing a record deal.

Campbell will play McDonnell’s father, a wealthy and entitled lawyer who doesn’t approve of his son dropping out of law school.

Janet Montgomery will play an unhappily married dog groomer and best friend of Wood's character, who has terrified her friend with a suicide attempt.

Hayley Atwell was attached at one point to star but she's moved on due to a scheduling issue.

Junger, Gary Smith and Andrew Lazar will produce the film.

Shooting is underway in Los Angeles
