Knight Moves

As fans await the release of The Dark Knight this summer, star Christian Bale (pictured as Batman) talked to Entertainment Weekly about the chances of his returning for a third time as the Caped Crusader

Director Christopher Nolan already has an idea in mind for a third flick in the current series and Bale's oririginal deal for Batman contained a three film clause. Therefore, one can assume that #3 should hit the cineplex by the Summer of 2011.

Bale's not committing to anything outright but does very open to the idea:

"...let's wait and see...I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris [Nolan] going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris."

Of course Bale's gonna be somewhat coy until he signs on the dotted line officially--This is a common tactic among folks even with a 3 picture deal...

I find it hard to imagine that Bale or Nolan would sit out the next installment though.

As for "Knight" cast and crew plan to 'Celebrate' the work of the late Heath Ledger through the film-opening July 18th
