New Jersey's own James Gandolfini has joined the cast of The Taking of Pelham 123 remake for director Tony Scott, according to Variety.The former The Sopranos star plays the NYC Mayor under pressure to bring an end to a tense hostage situation
John Travolta leads the bad guys who are holding a packed subway car for ransom. Denzel Washington. plays the cop trying to stop them.
Gandolfini makes a fine choice for this role and has the talent to work opposite Travolta and Washington. Washington previously worked with the G-man in Scott's '95 potboiler Crimson Tide.
