Author and columnist W. Bruce Cameron, whose first book was the basis for hit TV series 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (2002-2005 cast pictured) that starred the late John Ritter has inked a deal to turn his newest book in the Simple Rules series into a feature film according to The Hollywood Reporter."Devil Wears Prada" producer Wendy Finerman will adapt the semi-autobiographical dark comedy "8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter" which Cameron will co-adapt with fellow author Cathryn Michon ("Grrl Genius").
The plot concerns a divorced dad whose balancing a younger girlfriend and two daughters who are both engaged at the same time.
Other details concerning the film have yet to be nailed down yet...
The book will be published April 8th.
The story, as was the case with its predecessor, seems ripe for mining laughs...Casting is key here.
