Psyched For Sucker

Yay! One of my all time faves Carla Gugino has joined the cast of “Sucker Punch" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Babydoll (Emily Browning) is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

Gugino will play a nurse in the insane asylum who becomes a madam at a brothel in the film's alternate reality.

The madam stuff is easy for her to play as she oozes sex appeal--I wonder if she will borrow from Louise Fletcher from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for the nurse role?

Gugino and director Zack Snyder worked well together on the Watchmen film and I expect good things here as well.

Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone and Abbie Cornish co-star in the pic that begins shooting in early Fall.
