Remember when the net went nuts--including me-- for a superhero film called Super Max?
The sucker has been in development hell for a long time...Now MTV recently spoke to writer/producer David Goyer about the treatment, written by Justin Marks and said this....
"We're working on that. We're about to bring on another writer. Obviously, Warner Bros.. is now heavily into mining all of the various DC properties."
Adding
"We came up with the idea and thought it could work in either the Marvel or the DC universe. It needed that type of character and there are analogues in both universes."
The film would find the heroic Green Arrow--with his secret identity exposed locked up behind bars, forced to team up with top tier villains of the DCU.
The idea sounds soooo fricken awesome, and since Arrow relies on his wits and enhanced arrows (which he would lose in jail) and not super powers--the pic would be cheaper to produce than your average genre film.
Goyer wouldn't discuss any dates or timeframe for release saying only "It's definitely something we're developing."
WB/DC does a lot of thinking about superhero films but rarely moves on them-- losing golden opportunities...
I still say TV's Green Arrow on Smallville Justin Hartley should play the Emerald Archer in the film if it ever gets off the ground...
Fingers Crossed...
