Actor/writer Bill Birch will co-pen the long in the works film about comic book superhero Shazam! says Variety.DC Comics talent Geoff Johns will co-write the script about, teenager Billy Batson who becomes the powerful caped hero of Gods.
A slew of talented scribes have written previous drafts including John August, Bryan Goluboff, Joel Cohen, Alec Sokolow and William Goldman.
Birch has guested on lots of TV shows and wrote "One Finger Salute"
Don't know much about Birch's skills but I'm really jazzed that Johns is helping him out--He has proven that he can cross over into many mediums and do great things.
Get Smart helmer Peter Segal is still attached to direct. Now let's get moving kids....
