Marc Klein ("Serendipity," "A Good Year") has been hired to pen a new draft of the script for the film adaptation of Tony-winning Broadway hit "In The Heights" for says Variety.
The story follows a bodega owner who inherits lottery winnings which he plans to use to retire to the Dominican Republic. He's soon conflicted about leaving his Washington Heights neighborhood behind.
Original show writer Quiara Alegria Hudes penned the previous adaptation. Klein will work with creator Lin-Manuel Miranda on the film's script.
