The animated hero "Mighty Mouse" is on his way to the big screen reports The Los Angeles Times.
Though several scribes have attempted a film adaptation in the past--a new writer as well as a "number of up and comers on the list" to helm.
Originating as a crime-fighting super-mouse in the 1940s which patterned itself after the popular Superman the character became most famous for the cartoon serials which ran for over three decades up through until the late 1980's.
A 2013 release for the Mighty Mouse film is planned.
