It all started when Superhero Hype posted that would start off around April in New Orleans rather than London and Chicago where Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were shot.
Makes sense since fellow studio pic Green Lantern just wrapped there and the studio suits are most likely looking to shoot where its most economical for them
But that led to a chat between Morgan Freeman and MTV News where the actor says he's also heard of a Spring start date, and that "there just may be more than one" villain in the next film.
Rather than any actual new insider information though he regurgitated stuff that's been around awhile... he brought up talk of The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.
And then infamous rumor maker Mark Millar comics writer recently sent out two tweets which he indicated were gossip he'd heard at a convention - "I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale... One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected."
If the film's locale is indeed New Orleans, /Film thinks that he's referring to Killer Croc, the former wrestler named Waylon Jones turned criminal thug born with a genetic defect which gave him scaly skin and great strength.
Millar admits this is convention gossip
Croc would indeed be unexpected and would be cool though I think a Catwoman or Ridder would be in order...
