Consolation

Darren Aronofsky is in talks to direct X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2, reports Vulture.

Christopher McQuarrie wrote the script that centers on Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) traveling to Japan and continuing the saga as part of a X-Men O:W’s post-credits scene.

Shortly after that announcement, Aronofsky's reps began negotiations to helm the "Wolverine" sequel. Things aren't set though as he has also been offered "Tales from the Gangster Squad"---which Ben Affleck was offered. to direct, but has since turned down the project.

Aronofsky was on the Superman: Man of Steel reboot list but it was officially announced that Zack Snyder would be directing that film earlier this week

Vulture includes some unconfirmed bits about MOS that have me raising eyebrows
