L.A podcast host Jeff Goldsmith tweets that Leonardo DiCaprio may play villian Calvin Candie in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
The spaghetti western style film follows a slave named Django who teams with German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz on a mission to rescue his wife from a sadistic plantation owner.
Will Smith is the frontrunner for the lead.
Quentin originally wanted Leo to play Hans Landa in "Inglourious Basterds" before ultimately casting Christoph Waltz in the role. Waltz is eyed to play Schultz who trains Django and helps him on his quest. Samuel L. Jackson is being sought to play Stephen, the expert manipulator and house slave of the plantation owner.
No confirmation yet, and Goldsmith carefully labels the news a "Casting Rumor"
