Disney let go of its application to attain the “Seal 6” trademark “out of deference to the Navy” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Mouse House filed for the trademark for the group, which is responsible for the killing of Osama bin Laden, on May 3; the Navy filled out two applications ten days later.

Although Disney may have benefitted from the merchandise possibilities gained from such a trademark, it was good for the company to withdraw its application. It’s a classy move that will definitely pay off in the long run.
