Dylan McDermott is joining the cast of Mercy, says THR.
The fantasy-horror film is based on Stephen King's short story "Gramma", Published in the 1985 anthology "Skeleton Crew" the story follows two young boys ("The Walking Dead" star Chandler Riggs and Super 8's Joel Courtney) who, along with their single mother (Frances O'Connor), take care of their elderly, senile grandmother. They discover she's a witch who made a deal with a dark force years beforehand.
There are no deets on the character that McDermott will play.
This was previously adapted for the small screen as an episode of "The New Twilight Zone" written by author Harlan Ellison
Peter Cornwell (The Haunting in Connecticut) will direct from the adapted script by Matt Greenberg
McG Mary Viola and Jason Blum will produce the pic.
It not yet known when principal photography will begin.
