Bernthal Lands Ringside For Grudge Match

Jon Bernthal is in talks to join the comedy "Grudge Match" says Variety.

Bernthal Could Pass For A Young De Niro

The story follows two retired boxers (Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro) who return to the ring for a final grudge match.

Bernthal will play De Niro's son who is conflicted about training the estranged father he has resented for years

Alan Arkin will play the former trainer to Stallone's character with the latter rescuing the former from a nursing home. Comedian Kevin Hart is set to play a fight promoter. Kim Basinger will play "the woman caught in the middle" of the 2 men

"Entourage" creator Doug Ellin wrote the latest draft of the script from a screenplay by Tim Kelleher by which Peter Segal's calling action

Mark Steven Johnson, Bill Gerber and Carrie Gillogly will produce the film

Production hopes to begin early next year in Louisiana.
