Blake Ayshford penned the script from which Tony Ayres directs.
The story is inspired by a real-life incident at Brisbane’s Whisky A Go Go nightclub in 1973--where Kwanten and Stapleton will play two ex-cons. Stapleton's character, having just gotten out of jail, persuades Kwanten's reformed character to pull off a robbery. In the process they set fire to a nightclub, killing 15 people.
Taylor plays the fiancé to Kwanten's character.
Trevor Blainey will produce the film
Production kicks off in the middle of next year.
