Test screenings for the Carrie remake took place recently and Very Aware claims to have talked to one person who was there.
Based on author Stephen King's book and the 1976 film directed by Brian De Palma is a horror classic about a timid and tortured girl (Sissy Spacek) who uses her telekinetic powers to punish her tormentors.
The source says that four different endings for the remake were allegedly shown, along with a fifth one being mentioned (but not shown) by MGM representatives.
That fifth ending was filmed, but "would only be used if all four were rejected". The audience was asked to vote for which one they liked best.
SPOILERS AHEAD
The first two endings were apparently the audience's favorite. Both resemble the original De Palma film with Sue Snell being pulled into the grave and then waking up from a nightmare. One is an exact copy, the other ends before she wakes up.
The third and fourth were post-destruction 'morning after' style scenes. The third has a voice over and deals with the town's residents, while the fourth is more about the media and cops reactions to the events.
Several versions of key scenes in the film were also reportedly shown including the prom scene, and the scene where Carrie uses her powers for the first time.
SPOILERS END
What makes the report suspect is the fact that test screenings don't show alternate endings. Rather they test different cuts to different audiences.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a playwright who was brought in to rework the troubled Broadway production Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, is writing the new script which is said to be both more faithful and more realistic than the previous 1976 version. Kimberly Peirce ("Boys Don't Cry") called action.
Julianne Moore nabbed the role of Carrie's (Chloe Moretz) abusive, fundamentalist Christian mother, Margaret White, played in the original De Palma film by Oscar nominee Piper Laurie. The Three Musketeers Gabriella Wilde has won the role of Carrie's school ally Sue Snell. Judy Greer is lined up to play Miss Collins, the gym teacher. Portia Doubleday will play chief antagonist Chris Hargensen the popular girl that Nancy Allen played in the original Alex Russell plays a school bully as well.
The film had a March 15th, 2013 release date that was pushed back until October 18, 2013.
