Daniel Radcliffe Going For The "Gold"

Deadline reports that Daniel Radcliffe is attached to play British politician and former Olympic athlete Sebastian Coe in the biopic "Gold".

The film will focus on the obsessive Coe and his rivalry with Steve Ovett. Coe was a quiet loner driven to the brink by his ambitious father. Ovett was an effortless and natural athlete fighting to prove himself in an elitist world.

James Watkins ("Eden Lake," "The Woman in Black") directs the film using a script by Simon Beaufoy and Will Davies.

Joanna Anderson, Vicky Licorish and Kevin Loader will produce.

Production will begin next year
