Doing the push for next month's "Thor: The Dark World" Marvel suit Kevin Feige told The Huffington Post that the casting of James Spader as the villain Ultron in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" for writer/director Joss Whedon will consist of more than just doing voiceover work:
"Well, I think it will be more than a voice role -- we'll be capturing his face and his body to create a whole performance. He's a very unique and incredibly exciting and unpredictable actor. And Ultron in the comics is a robot, but what's cool about him in the comics -- and certainly how Joss Whedon is interpreting him for the movie -- is that he is much more than just a robot. That he's infused with much character. And I don't want to say too much, but you can imagine James Spader will be very dynamic in his portrayal of this character. We did not hire James Spader to do a [run of the mill] 'robot voice'."
Speaking of Ultron, Natalie Portman confirmed on the stump that she will not reprise her role as Jane Foster in the "Avengers 2." However, she says that she is interested in coming back if Marvel would have her.
While the sequel DOES NOT follow the Age of Ultron comics storyline--in which the big bad Ultron was created by Hank Pym who becomes Ant-Man. This news puts to rest the most popular theory suggesting that Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr,) robot butler J.A.R.V.I.S. (voiced by Paul Bettany) operating system from the Iron Man Films would turn into the villain.
After months being the frontrunner it's now official, "Kick-Ass 2" star Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play Quicksilver in the sequel. The chatter has also been confirmed that "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and "Silent House" star Elizabeth Olsen is indeed playing the role of Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch-sister to Quicksilver.
Marvel vets RDJ, Chris Evans Chris Hemsworth Scarlett Johansson Samuel L. Jackson Jeremy Renner Mark Ruffalo, Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders who are all expected back
Production on the 'Avengers' sequel is slated to begin in March to meet a release date of May 1, 2015
