Olympus Has Fallen Gets A Sequel

Screen Daily reports that plans are afoot to make the actioner "London Has Fallen," a sequel to this year'a surprise action hit "Olympus Has Fallen" which grossed $161 million worldwide on a modest budget.

The story deals with a plot to strike at London during the funeral of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Only the President of the United States, his secret service head and an English MI6 agent can save the day.

Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman are set to reprise their roles, while Angela Bassett and Radha Mitchell also star.

Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger will return to write the screenplay, but a director is not yet locked.

Butler, Alan Siegel, Mark Gill, Matthew O'Toole, and Danny Lerner will produce.

Avi Lerner's going to executive produce the pic.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in London on May 5th.

Based on footage alone if someone were to ask me I would have bet that Sony Pictures rival project action-thriller White House Down would be the one getting a follow up--Not "Fallen"
