Actor Don Cheadle’s set to star in and make his feature film directorial debut here as Davis, the pioneering jazz trumpeter is widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians of last century, died aged 65 in 1991.
Stephen J. Rivele and Chris Wilkinson penned the script.
Herbie Hancock is on board as executive producer and musical supervisor.
The project will make the rounds at the 2013 American Film Market event.
