The original Purge was released earlier this year and stars Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. Produced for just $3 million, the thriller went on to earn more than $87 million worldwide.
Plot details are under wraps, except to say that it will be set in the same world as the first pic--where all crime is legalized for a 12-hour period.
James DeMonaco is back writing and directing the sequel.
Jason Blum Michael Bay and Sebastien Lemercier are also returning to produce the movie
