The "Ouija" Film Nabs Kagasoff For Lead

Daren Kagasoff ("The Secret Life Of The American Teenager") will play the male lead role in the horror film "Ouija" says Deadline.

This film will be quite different from the way it was originally intended as a big-budget action-adventure pic of the Hasbro board game with McG attached to direct. The story will still use the board game that lets players communicate with the spirit world as its premise--now it has been scaled back

The action follows a group of teens playing with a Ouija board who make contact with an evil spirit and desperately try to save themselves.

Kagasoff plays a handsome boyfriend skeptical about reaching out to their dead friend.

"Knowing" and "The Possession" scribes Juliet Snowden and Stiles White rewrote the script and will direct the action.

Since its initial development folks like "Fright Night" remake writer Marti Noxon--who got her start working on the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series, Simon Kinberg. Evan Spiliotopoulos and Tron Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have worked on the script in the past.

Producers Brian Goldner, Bennett Schneir, Andrew Form Michael Bay and Brad Fuller will remain involved, while Jason Blum's climbing on board as well.
