X-Men: Apocalypse: Writers United

"X2: X-Men United" and "Superman Returns" screenwriters Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris are reuniting with Bryan Singer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" the next chapter in the film series which will hit theaters on May 27, 2016 opposite Alice in Wonderland 2

Singer revealed the news via Twitter with a photo tweet last night with the trio and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" screenwriter Simon Kinberg doing what he says is a "late night X-Men Apocalypse story session".

He also tweeted:"It's snowing in Egypt," a reference to the birth place of En Sabah Nur (aka. Apocalypse) in the comics.

The younger actors introduced in "X-Men: First Class" James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast). Lucas Till (Alex “Havoc” Summers), etc. are contracted for three films and are locked in to return.

Because the film is a direct sequel to "X-Men: Days of Future Past" it will focus strictly on the younger cast as they take on the comic's greatest villain Apocalypse.

The original trilogy stars Sir Ian McKellen Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman  Ellen Page (Kitty Pride) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) Anna Paquin (Rogue) Halle Berry (Storm) are not involved apparently,

Still much remains unknown about the film since Singer only announced the film a few weeks ago.
