Chris Pratt Hovers Over "Cowboy Ninja Viking"

"Guardians of the Galaxy" star is reportedly attached to star in the film adaptation of AJ Lieberman's graphic novel "Cowboy Ninja Viking" reports Collider.

The story revolves around an assassin with dissociative identity disorder who possess the skills of a cowboy, a ninja, and a Viking, and works for a secret government program.  He escapes and uses his skills to track down the billionaire who masterminded the program.

"Zombieland" writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese wrote an adapted screenplay for Disney which the suits deemed 'too edgy'. Universal Pictures has now acquired that script and hopes it will be a potential franchise launcher for them.

The most recent script draft indicates that when the character switches personalities, he will physically manifest onscreen as three different people. To other characters in the film though, he still just looks like Pratt's character.

Marc Forster ("Quantum of Solace," "Monster's Ball") was tipped to direct here  but is no longer attached to the project. No new helmer is set yet .

Wernick, Reese, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff will produce the pic.
