Peter Straughan is set to write the adapted script for the film version of author Donna Tartt's award-winning novel "The Goldfinch" says Variety.
The story takes place over two decades and follows a
thirteen-year-old boy who loses his mother in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He survives the explosion, steals the Carel Fabritius painting the
Goldfinch, gets taken in by an Upper East Side family and eventually
reunites with his alcoholic gambling addict father.
Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Brett Ratner are producing
