Haley Bennett Steps Into "The Blunderer"

Haley Bennett ("Ender's Game," "True Grit") has joined the film adaptation of author Patricia Highsmith's 1954 novel "The Blunderer" says THR.

The story follows the young, successful and handsome Walter Stackhouse, (Patrick Wilson), a successful architect with a lovely wife (Jessica Biel) in the 1960s. Walter becomes obsessed with an unsolved murder case, which spirals out of control as he faces both a deadly killer (Toby Jones) and an ambitious detective, all while lusting for another woman (Bennett).

Bennett replaces Imogen Poots whom was previously cast in the part of the other woman.

Susan Boyd penned the adapted script after she and her novelist/screenwriter husband William Boyd optioned the book. Andy Goddard will direct the feature.

Christine Vachon, David Hinojosa and Ted Hope are producing.

Production started this week in Cincinnati
