Has A Diretor Been Chosen To Chart The "Wonder Woman" Film?

Last month we were told that Warner Bros/DC Entertainment wants a female director to helm the "Wonder Woman" solo movie due in 2017.

Filmmaker Lexi Alexander is one of the few women to helm a comic book based film--"Punisher: War Zone"--told Forbes that an offer is out to someone but she is not saying who it is:

"If she says yes, everybody will be very happy, including me. Still, I don't see at this point why anyone would say yes. There is huge pressure. If [a female director] does fail, then all of a sudden it's 'all women suck at directing.'"

Alexander adds she has not been approached for the film and has discouraged her managers from putting her name out there: "I can't say they wouldn't consider me, but they haven't reached out."

Names like  Kathryn Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight"), Mimi Leder ("Deep Impact"), Karyn Kusama ("Aeon Flux") and Julie Taymor ("Across the Universe") are on the list of potentials--as are Episodic TV directors such as Michelle MacLaren ("Game of Thrones") and  Tricia Brock ("The Walking Dead").

Bleeding Cool suggests that pic will be set in the 1920s, making it a prequel to Zack Snyder's upcoming superhero team-up film called "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. They add that the sequel to this film would be set during World War II and that she wouldn’t reunite with the Justice League until a third movie.
