Based on Dave Bidini's 2005 non-fiction book, Yelchin will play Kyle Buffone, a rising baseball minor-league player who gets detoured on the way to major-league stardom by pitching for the Peones, a baseball team in Italy.
Jesse Chabot and Jay Baruchel co-wrote the adapted script--the latter also stars in the film.
