Avoiding The Pitfalls

Chatting it up with MTV News--Leonardo DiCaprio says that he's hoping to see the script for the live action remake of anime classic Akira but is still in only very early development stages of the "Ninja Scroll)" update.

DiCaprio realizes that producing projects based on hugely popular Anime properties means there's no messing around:

"I'm a big fan of Japanese anime... I know there a lot of loyal fans out there of the project and die-hard fans, so we're going to try to do the best job we possibly can and we're not going to make the movie until the script is in the right shape."

He's got rhe best intentions here but the expectations will be very high and therein lies the problem...That's why the genre is so hard to adapt in America--it's difficult to capture the uniqueness in style of storytelling.

Despite producing both , DiCaprio has no plans to star in either film.
